Pam and Joe Moshé have continually made it their mission to give back to the neighborhoods that they serve. In doing so, they spend a considerable amount of time on charitable endeavors, including their support for Community Housing Innovations, Inc. (CHI), for which they were honored as the inaugural “CHI Heroes” during the organization’s 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Melville Marriot on Thursday, October 19.

With five children and nine grandchildren, Pam and Joe know what it takes to care for a family in today’s society. It was Pam and Joe’s love for family that first drew them to CHI’s mission of ensuring that low- and moderate-income families across Long Island and Westchester have a safe place to sleep at night. Both companies have made it their mission to help as many people as they can in achieving the American Dream of owning a home. Like CHI, Charles Rutenberg Realty, Inc. (CRR) is in the business of helping make homeownership a reality for many.

After recognizing a shared goal of putting forth every effort to provide Long Islanders with housing options, CRR and CHI established a partnership in early 2016. It is through this relationship that representatives of CRR began presenting at CHI’s First-Time Homebuyer Orientations. Additionally, the company's Agents began to provide scholarships for the education classes that applicants are required to complete. To make a bigger impact, Pam and Joe established a program where 15 percent of an Agent’s commissions from sales on behalf of CHI clients are donated back to the organization to fund additional grants.

During the holiday season, Pam and Joe held a special Movie Day event for CHI clients at Elwood Cinemas in East Northport. Family members from CRR and CHI’s emergency housing clients were treated to a day at the movies, with popcorn and beverages. Donations of socks and gloves were also collected from CRR to be distributed by CHI. Around this time last year, CRR held a Tenth Anniversary Gala, for which tickets were sold as a 100% tax-deductible donation, raising nearly $10,000 for CHI.

Pam and Joe’s philanthropic efforts don’t stop at CHI. The family also supports PinkTie.org, which raises money for breast cancer research, and rockCANroll, which provides food items to local food pantries. They are also currently forging a partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

The success of CRR is due in part to Pam and Joe’s philosophy of providing a personal touch to everyone with whom they come in contact. Their employees, Agents and vendors know that the door is always open at CRR to meet Pam or Joe. The crux of the company’s success, however, comes from its business model – which combines a state-of-the-art remote office structure with the closeness of a family-run business, along with 100% commissions to its Agents. In addition to its Plainview headquarters, CRR has seven branch offices – in Hauppauge, Huntington, Sayville, Oceanside, Queens, Bronx and White Plains – which provide additional benefits to Agents who live within those areas.

Pam and Joe believe that, as CRR continues to grow, so, too, will the company’s partnership with CHI. Both organizations look forward to a long-lasting relationship.
