If you’re hosing a BBQ this Memorial Day weekend, we’ve put together a list of a few simple and inexpensive ways to add a twist to your party! Don’t forget to also sit back and relax and enjoy your hard work. (Tip: If that means asking your close friends and family to bring a dish, DO IT!)

Frozen Fruit

For a refreshingly sweet twist, use frozen fruit in lieu of ice in soda and seltzer. You can even place a berry in each cube of your ice tray before freezing.

Toppings Station

Go beyond ketchup and mayo by setting up a table with a whole assortment of mustards and cheeses, crumbled bacon, guacamole, pickles, onions, BBQ sauce and salsas.

Different Burgers

Grounded beef, turkey, or even salmon burgers add variety and flavor without a high price tag.

Specialty Buns

Switch it up from the buns you would normally use. Try brioche, onion, sesame, poppy seed roll and buns.

Corn on the Cob

Put some corn on the grill and then try some Parmesan cheese and chili powder. Or butter with fresh basil for a delicious herbal spread.

Bucket of Beverages

Serve a white and red wine, like Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, and a non-alcoholic option such as seltzer and sodas. Place the bottles in a metal bucket full of ice on your table, and guests can serve themselves!

Grilled Pizza

Try grilled pizzed, it’s easy and cheap! Place your dough directly on the grill, cook for a minute, flip, then add your favorite toppings, grilling until heated through.

Sweet Potato Chips

Leave the prepackaged chips on the shelf! Thinly slice sweet potatoes, coat with egg and flour, then fry slices in an oven until golden brown.
