At this point, you've probably tried to find this information on your own. Most sellers start their research online and wind up on Trulia or Zillow to get answers. While that is helpful, it's not the solution. Speaking with a trusted Real Estate Professional is the best way to determine the value of your home. 

You Ask Around For a Realtor.

You realize that there is a lot involved when it comes to selling your home. What price should you list your home? Do you think you are asking too much? How long will it sit on the market? Should you give the walls a fresh coat of paint? So, you start asking your friends and family if they know a good Realtor.

How Do You Choose a Realtor?

Now that you have been recommened a few Realtors, which one do you choose? This is the time to setup a interviews. Be sure to meet with at least three Realtors, before you make your decision. Realtors will meet with you and give you a "listing presentation." This is when they tell you why they are qualified to sell your home and what they will do for you. It's also a great opportunity to see if you feel comfortable with hiring them. Check out their experience and see which one is a fit to your personality and communication style. Sometimes you just know when it's right.

You Have Choosen a Realtor To Sell Your Home, Now What Do You Do?

Your Realtor should have a marketing plan for you. This is a step-by-step guide as to what they are going to do to sell your home. This will keep you up-to-speed as to what you can expect during the process. Be sure to ask your Realtor to keep you updated every step of the way. Or not. It depends on how much you want to be in involved the process. Make sure you ask questions and communicate what you need from them during the process. Your Realtor is there to support you every step of the way. You can turn to them for anything you need during the process.  

Prepping the House to Sell.

Should you paint the house? Should you repave the driveway? Fixed the leaking faucet? These are all important ascpets to consider that could either help or hurt the sale of your home. Some of which could cost you hundreds or thousands. The good news is that your Realtor will know exactly what you should fix, repair or leave it be. 

It's Moving Time.

Once you have accepted an offer and you're in contract, you'll need to start prepping to move! Make sure you have all the items in your house packed up and ready to go. One of your best options is to have a moving sale – there are professionals that will do this for you for a fee. It's well-worth it and you'll make some extra money on the side.
